Next Tuesday I will be leading a debate in the House of Commons on ‘Transport in Hertfordshire’.
My reason for seeking this debate was two fold. First, our rail services in Hitchin and in Harpenden continue to be unacceptable, and is disadvantaging the thousands of commuters who rely on these services every day. Some steps have been taken to rectify this, but not enough. I will continue to push for our rail services to be restored to satisfactory levels.
Secondly, I want to make clear that expansion of Luton Airport must be stopped. It will have an enormous impact on our rural constituency, and will lead to much more air pollution, noise pollution and congestion on our roads.
If you have any specific issues or concerns you would like to be raised at the debate, please just let me know.
You’ll be able to watch the debate live at the below link on Tuesday 4 June after the main business of the House. https://parliamentlive.tv/Commons
