As our part of the co-ordinated events on the ‘Day of Action’, 6th November members of SLAE were joined by around 50 supporters from various local opposition groups, and their four-legged friends.
The Climate Emergency grips the world; COP 26 sat on Wednesday 10th to consider how transport can meet its obligations to stay within limits, and not keep adding to them in the pursuit of cash by airport owners and airlines.
Luton Borough Council (LBC) insist that they have the “Silver Bullet” to Climate Change in their rampant expansion plans and will only indulge in “Green Growth Only”. So with this in mind we scoured the media on the 10th, as surely the CEO of London Luton Airport Ltd will be the keynote speaker at COP? As he and his team obviously have all the answers to how aviation can go green now, and not in the decades to come?
We are sure that LBC will freely share this game changing insight with the World, but then again, when you’ve spent in excess of £65 million of public money on green expansion, then maybe they’ll want to retail it to get that huge sum back?
