As a group we will continue to challenge the claim that the Expansion of Luton Airport will be, “a great development for Luton”, fundamentally because the sums still don’t add up.
So, in as the discussions move on and the plans unfold, we will now focus on scrutinising how the developments unfold:
- To make sure LR and the Planning Committee of LBC meet all the restrictions set out in the DCO
- That promises to limit the impact of the Development on the local population and environment, particularly Wigmore Valley Park, are upheld
- To make sure any Expansion is funded by Private Investment and that the Dividend from the Concession Fees to LBC budgets is returned at the earliest opportunity, and not just the interest on loans they currently pay
Always remembering that the original arguments against the Expansion, still exist for us and for many others
